There are a ton of different schools of thought when it comes to Scent Work. One of them is introducing the dog to the overall concept of Scent Work by having them hunt for food alone. We will discuss the why's and how's of this methodology in this webinar.
WEBINAR DETAILS
Scent Work, at its core, involves having a dog hunt for a particular odor in specific search elements. To be successful, the dog must be able to work through a variety of odor puzzles. However, odor is odor. While it is true that Birch, Anise and Clove may be used in competition, food also has odor. Therefore, we could very well introduce the dog to the overall concept of Scent Work using food!
In this webinar we will outline the thinking behind this approach, the benefits of it and how dog and handler teams can then progress to hunting for more than just food alone.
