When we mindfully leverage barriers in our Scent Work searches, we can help our dogs understand a variety of odor puzzles and how best to solve them. However, too many Scent Work teams fail to fully utilize barrier training into their training and exercises, causing the dog to suffer from a lack of understanding.
For instance, barrier training exercises can be an excellent precursor to formally introducing a dog to tackling vehicle searches, illustrating the need to work around an item to get to source. Thoughtful barrier training exercises can further build and develop the dog's odor library.
Learn how to more fully and effectively leverage barrier training in this webinar.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
"I actually found answers in this video to other training problems I am having. As Judith talked about sequentially teaching barriers I realized I had not done this and now was seeing my dog jumping on things, or diving under.... causing me grief as the handler. Thanks Dianna and Judith!" Carrie A.
