Down-to-Earth Explanation of Odor Theory
An essential component to having success in Nose Work is to have a solid training program and a critical component of Nose Work training program is training for certain odor puzzles or pictures. As much as we sometimes think we have “ odor goggles” we still physically cannot see odor. We can learn and predict where it is going to go and there are some “ tendencies” that are consistent on how it is going to move. Understanding these tendencies are the first steps on knowing odor movement.
Developing a baseline on understanding these tendencies and learning about key factors that influence odor movement such as environmental, logistical, vessels, surfaces, and material factors will empower the trainer with a much higher chance of being successful and setting up the correct odor puzzles.
In this seminar, Tony will breakdown and give insight on how to accomplish the common odor puzzles such as pooling, converging, channeling, elevation and some of the more complex odor puzzles such as chimney effect or diffused inaccessible.
If you are teaching Nose Work classes, or a handler that sets up your own training scenarios, this seminar will be invaluable to you and highly beneficial to you and your team's future training program.
